Join us on a guided tour of the Mittlandsskogen and discover water salamanders in their natural habitat. Choose from a day tour where the forest comes to life or a nighttime headlight hike for a more exciting experience.
During the spring, water salamanders gather in forest ponds to prepare for spawning. On a guided hike through the Mittlandsskogen, you can get a unique insight into these little creatures and their lives. With an experienced nature guide, it will be easier to spot the animals and understand their behavior. Daytime is given the opportunity to explore the forest, look for animal tracks and see if the salamanders have come to life.
For those who want to experience the forest in a different way, an evening walk with a headlamp is offered. The sounds of the night become more tangible, and perhaps owls can be heard in the distance. With any luck, salamanders can be seen on their trek towards the water. Afterwards, wait for a cozy moment by the fire with hot drink and freshly baked waffle.

Practical information
Whether you choose a day or evening guided tour, we gather at Mittlandsgården, Törnbotten Road 68, just outside Algutsrum. From there we go together to the forest. We recommend warm clothes. Feel free to choose layer upon layer with overlay trousers in case of rain and wind. On the feet warm shoes/boots that can withstand moisture. The ground is flat but slightly uneven therefore it does not work with the stroller/walker. Dogs are welcome if they are OK with other participants.
